Bug's New Room

You know those blogs where they show you a room that they just designed and it's so beautiful and amazing and the photos are so airy and light and it just makes you want to hop on a plane and fly to New Zealand or wherever the heck they are so you can just sit and bask in their wonderful space?

This is not one of those blogs.

I did, however, finally get around to creating a nursery for my two and a half year old son. It's not that I'm lazy, we just didn't have the space for him to have a room all to his own. He shared a room with his sister which ended up being crowded and cluttered and sort of a hodge-podge of stuff all rammed in one small space.

We decided to turn our "dining room" that no-one ever dined in ever in to a room for Birdy and viola! Both kids now have their own space. Here is my little Bugaboo's new bedroom.

I wanted to give him a little Montessori inspired sleep area. It's low down, he can get in to it and out of it with no help. Every thing in his room is accessible and on his level. I chose mostly neutrals with little pops of color here and there. I think it is warm and inviting. My favorite parts are the bookshelf made my my father who passed away 4 years ago and the little rocking chair which was my husband's when he was a boy. This room is filled with sweet memories and is ready for Bug to make a whole bunch of new memories.

Next project...the closet!

  3. This is adorable! Love the personal touches from family, too. The bed is a great idea - keeping it low and so easy for him to use. Less worries about him falling out of bed too. Your stuff is the best.

I am really sorry about the word verification. I have been getting TONS of spam and this is the only way I can get a handle on it. I do love to hear what you have to say and hope that you will still take the time to comment. Thank you.
